About Us

In 1990 the Moorhouse’s sold their two galleries in Chester County, Pa. and moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to raise their two young daughters. With all of their framing equipment in storage, they decided to wait for the right location to come along before reopening their gallery and picture framing business.  In 2005 a storefront became available in a small shopping center in downtown Galena, Maryland and the Moorhouse’s signed a lease and reopened their shop.

Local artist Linda Hall’s husband Rob who was recently retired, and had been gaining lots of framing experience from framing wife Linda’s work, came on board as well as Pam Quarstein who took command of the back office. 

Today the three have formed a cohesive partnership that makes the shop sail smoothly.  Each month from April thru December they feature one of their very talented artists with a wine and cheese opening reception and a two week show.

The Gallery is always on the lookout for those talented “unknowns” and will gladly review artwork of all mediums for selection to their inventory of consigned art.  The Kent Gallery also has a nice selection of Fine Art which includes such artists as Whistler, H B Pancoast, George A Newman, Aubrey Bodine and others.  The Gallery also offers a “Recycle Your Art” Program for customers who wish to sell their art to make room for new work, or just to “cash in” on their art investment.
